The Importance of Logic

A young Christian demonstrates the importance of knowing and studying logic:

A good course of study in logic that we have been using, based on the Bluedorns’ recommendations, is:

  1. The Thinking Toolbox by Nathaniel Bluedorn and Hans Bluedorn (Grade 7)
  2. The Fallacy Detective by Nathaniel Bluedorn and Hans Bluedorn (Grade 8 )
  3. Introductory Logic by Nance and Wilson (Grade 9)
  4. Intermediate Logic by Nance (Grade 9-10)
  5. The Art of Reasoning by David Kelley (Grade 11+)

Another course of study recommended by the Bluedorn parents is:

  1. Building Thinking Skills Book 2 (teachers manual not needed) ­ age 10
  2. Building Thinking Skills Book 3 Figural (teachers manual needed) ­ age 11
  3. Building Thinking Skills Book 3 Verbal (teachers manual needed) ­ age 12
  4. The Fallacy Detective – age 13
  5. The Thinking Toolbox – age 13
  6. Critical Thinking Book 2 (teachers manual needed) ­ age 14-15
  7. Introductory Logic Video Course by James Nance (formal logic) age 15-16
  8. The Art of Reasoning by David Kelley (formal logic) ­ age 16-17
